Da von meinem alten PC das Board den Geist aufgegeben hatte und mir der
Bigtower zu viel Platz wegnahm, habe ich mich für ein Shuttle SN41G2V2
Barbone entschieden. Es braucht nicht viel Platz und ist auch Freundin
freundlich. ;-)
Installation:
Die Installation von OpenBSD (Shnapshot 3.6) verlief ohne Probleme.
Dadurch dass in dem System ein nforce2 Chipsatz verbaut ist, habe ich um
den PC auch im Netzwerk zu betreiben, vorher eine NIC (Realtec) in den
einzigen PCI Slot gesteckt. Der AGP Slot blieb frei, da das Board einen
integrierten Gforce 4 mx Chip hat.
Der erste Start:
Wie vermutet kann OpenBSD beim Start einige Onboard Komponenten des
Nforce2 Chips nicht (Lan, Firewire, SMBus [3]) initialisieren. Zu dem
musste ich fest stellen, dass der Prozessorlüfter beim initialisieren
des npx0 auf volle Leistung hoch gefahren wird und bis zum Beenden von
OpenBSD mit voller Leistung läuft (kann ganz schön nerven). Das Problem
mit dem Lüfter habe ich auch bei meinem Laptop (ACER Aspire 1300).
Ansonsten verlief der Start ohne Probleme.
